The creative manipulation of what might be considered as democratic materials and concepts seems fitting for an exhibition at Platform A, a gallery that has been informed and molded by the industrial heritage of its locality. The four artists exhibiting in ‘Grounded’ may not all originate from Teesside, yet have decided to make it their base and allow the region to have an influence on the work they create. The work combines their shared concerns regarding the notion of beauty within ordinary urban life.
